Parent's Guide

Maria's getting ready for a skiing trip. She's got a parka and goggles. She has a hard time walking in the boots. David points out that there's a lack of snow. You should remind your child that learning takes patience. Maria shows it's okay to look silly the first time. Use her example to encourage your child when a new activity feels tricky.

Maria uses paper to show the difference between top and bottom. There's a cartoon that really drives this point home. Knowing your way around helps with geometry and reading. You should play a game at home to help your child learn these words. Ask your child to touch the top of their head. Ask them to touch the bottom of their feet. This practice puts abstract words into action.

Sherlock Hemlock figured out that Big Bird is a lion by looking for clues. Big Bird just rolls with it and roars at David. Hey, just a heads-up: Sherlock's logic is a bit off. You should ask your child why the detective is wrong. This helps your child trust their own observations. It teaches them to spot factual errors.

A rocket didn't launch from number seven or number one. The rocket succeeds at the right time later. These mistakes are just steps toward a successful launch. You should use this example to teach resilience. Remind your child to keep trying when they fail the first time.

There are three lines trying to reach the top of the screen on their own. They don't work right away, but once you put the lengths together, they're good to go. This shows that some goals require help. You should explain that people reach higher goals by combining their strengths.
